Course: Mapping: Geographic Representation + Speculation, Harvard University Graduate School of Design

Deserts cover one-third of earth’s land surface with one billion people living in regions classified as arid. Representation of deserts in cartography indicate an absence of a landscape and under representing the communities who inhabited those lands for thousands of years. This project is a speculative narrative of breaking a preconceived visual monotony. It attempts to depict the landscape as a dynamic element and the various ecosystems within the desert landscape.
